Vartroy was founded in 2004 by Marcos Garcia, with a clear goal of creating original music within the world of rock and metal.
The following year, in 2005, the band released its first demo, Came to Stay, which circulated worldwide and earned numerous positive reviews, opening important doors for Vartroy’s name. Still in 2005, the band hit the road to showcase its material live.
In 2008, the first full-length album, Beginning, was released, firmly establishing Vartroy on the scene. The band remained active until 2010, when it went on hiatus until 2012. That comeback was marked by the release of the second album, Some Years Later, proving the creative force was still alive.
In 2016, the project returned to the studio for new recordings, resulting in several singles until 2018, when the album Daydreams came out. Between 2018 and 2020, Vartroy released a sequence of remarkable works, including A New Beginning and In Loving Memory.
The year 2020 brought a turning point: Vartroy became the solo project of Marcos Garcia, starting with the release of the album Anomaly. Between 2020 and 2022, a flood of singles paved the way for the full-length A New Dawn, which consolidated this new phase and the renewed identity of the band.
Keeping the creative flow, in 2024 Vartroy released Muted by the Pain, an album charged with emotion, reflecting personal experiences and a story of resilience — a true milestone in the band’s history.
Finally, in 2025, came Anomaly Reimagined, a reinterpretation of the 2020 album. This project definitively showcased Vartroy’s sonic identity, especially in the vocals, and opened the door for the next chapter of the band.
In life, we all face constant inner battles, whether personal or professional. Vartroy symbolizes this very process of resilience: falling, rising, and moving forward. The name was born from the idea of constant struggle and the will to keep going.
We make straightforward Rock/Metal! Back in 2004, there was a clear mold (NWOBHM), but now there are no labels. If a song demands something heavier, modern, alternative, punk, or even melodic — so be it! The important thing is that each track sincerely conveys what needs to be expressed.
